Nicolas Potel的父親直到1996年驟然去世前，都是Domaine de la Pousse d’Or的經理，從小就在葡萄種植以及葡萄酒釀造相關知識的薰陶下成長，父親的逝世使得酒莊不得出售。同年，他開始自己的酒商事業，以釀造高CP值的勃根地酒款聞名，他成功拓展高品質葡萄採購網絡，搭配極致的釀造技巧，釀造出價酒超優惠的優質勃根地酒款，2004年，Nicolas將他的品牌賣給了Labouré-Roi的Cottin兄弟，但依然持續自己的釀酒事業，並在2009年建立新的酒標Roche de Bellene，持續他在Beaune的酒商事業。
