原本是美國人的Alex Gambal，在紐約擔任英文教師，卻於一次品酒會中著迷於葡萄酒那千變萬化的風味，開始踏入酒液進行葡萄酒的買賣，而後更是全家遷移至勃根地，開始學習釀酒的技術、購買葡萄園開始自己釀酒。即使是半路出家，但Alex Gambal憑藉著對酒的熱忱以及遵從最傳統的勃根地釀酒風格，採用綠色種植法，不使用化學肥料及除草劑，而他對自然風土呈現的堅持也讓他被眾多酒評家評論「還原經典勃根地地塊風格的釀酒師」。
